Did Accutane treatment leave you depressed?

I'm trying to figure out why all of a sudden I became depressed and the only thing that I can think of is the 6 months of hell I went through with Accutane. I felt myself getting a lot more depressed in the last two months of the treatment and I have a feeling that it's the cause of my current depression.

Does anyone else feel that way? We all know that it states in the Accutane manual that it can cause depression, withdrawal from frienRAB, family, and society, potential suicide, etc...

Could it really be the Accutane to blame? I'm otherwise a completely normal, happy, and successful person. Or I should say I "used" to be all that until just recently finishing Accutane.

I was on Accutane for at least a year and then went off of it. During that year, I found myself more on edge. I never got to the depressed point but everyone's symptoms are different. It also could vary from person to person as not everyone has the same dosage, I really wish I remerabered the dose on my pill so we could compare but I don't remeraber it! Accutane can defintely be causing your depression though. My dermatologist told me once you are off of it, it may still cause some of the nasty symtoms.
 
I have 21 days left of 5 month accutane treatment and have had no unusual bouts of depression.
I'm not a physician, and clearly I don't if Accutane treatment is directly conducive to depression, but perhaps depression experienced while on Accutane is caused by the expectations the user has for the treatment. They have such high hopes that it will be a miracle drug, yet are confused when they are late into treatment and still don't have clear blemish-free skin, causing depression as Accutane was a final solution to repairing their self-esteem issues.
Just a thought.
 
nah, i can honestly say accutane doesnt make me feel any mood swings. ive been on it for 2
 
Yes I have been on oratane which is the same as accutane for about five months now. The drug worked wonders in getting rid of my acne and im happy for that, however I have been getting unusual bouts of depression especially in these last couple of months. I found myself withdrawn from social events where I have been a very social and active person before accutane. I believe everything will be fine when im finished my accutane and suggest you wait it out. Chances are over time when the drug wears off we will both start feeling better.
