Diary of the Dead

'Diary of the Dead' is one of the worst film's i've ever seen. And that's not an exaggeration either. Upon leaving the cinema i could do nothing but apologize to my frienRAB about the 90 minutes of utter garbage that i made them suffer through.

Romero only made 3 '...of the Dead' films if you ask me, i just ignore 'Land' and 'Diary', and will definitely not bother with the forthcoming 'Island of the Dead'.

I recalled Aint it Cool News giving it a good rating ages back hence wanting to see it regardless of the damning reviews that followed but wish I hadn't now.....

Lots of reviewers were swooning over it at the time, I think it was Channel4 in particular that sticks out in my mind giving it 4 stars out of 5 (whilst [REC] received only 3 out of 5, LOL).

High praise indeed.....for such a turd of a film.

I have since given up placing my trust in the opinions of the professional film critic.

[REC] is really good. It's the film that 'Diary of the Dead' wishes it was.

And i stopped paying attention to AICN reviews a long time ago, they are so uber-geeky on that site that it's made their reviews redundant. Don't even get me started on the idiots who comment on that site, a few weeks back they were all saying that Terminator 2 was a terrible film just for the sake of having a differing opinion to the majority:eek::rolleyes:

Did we need another topic on this rubbish movie :p

I didn't like it, very big disappointment and Romero is going downhill, his new one doesn't look any better.

I was really anticipating Diary. I enjoyed Land of the Dead (am I one of a very small minority? :() but I really thought that Diary was just average. I love Romero but trying to drag in a nod towarRAB the popularity of handheld cameras and whatnot is a tired concept. He didn't do anything smart with the film and it was thoroughly disappointing. I also didn't enjoy the fact that there was some eye-explosion :(, but that's a more personal level criticism :p.

And I thought that was one of the best bits of the film !! ha ha I did like Land of the Dead (think Im one of the minority too !) it was a bit too much "Hollywood" but a lot better than Diary which felt sloppy and unoriginal.

I watched Diary of the Dead (most of it) and REC on the same night. The gulf between the two films is enormous. REC was truly scary.

By the way, the common consensus is that REC remake Quarantine isn't a patch on the original, is this the case?
