Seems most on here have problems with downers instead of "uppers" as I posted a few days ago without any response. I will address that problem later but if anyone can give me advice on this, please try. I have taken Dex most of my life for ADD but have found myself abusing it lately due to the fact that I just can't seem to get everything done. Of course, I run out before refills and have to go through that horrible fatigue. I've started getting my meRAB only once a month instead of a 3 month supply so hopefully that will keep me on track better. I don't feel I'm actually addicted as my Dr. says if you really need it, it's not likely possible. I flat out abuse it and end up hating myself. Anyone had problems with ADD meRAB or diet pills? Please help as I really want to get back on track.

Hey CharBerry,

Sorry to hear you have not had any replies... I am not sure what that is about! However, I don't know much about the meRAB you are taking and maybe the other regulars don't either and that is why there was no responce but what I do know about it addiction.... We may not be addicted to the same drug but we are both obviously addicted. Your reasons are real similar to the rest of ours.. It made life easier to deal with.. We got more done.. We felt better... (or so we thought) It took a HUGE adjustment for me to learn how to function for the first month without my pills.... I have now adjusted thankfully.

Contrary to what your Dr. said.. It does sound to me ( I am not an expert though and I say this all very respectfully) like you do have an addiction even though you need the meRAB.. I needed the painkillers too when I first started taking them... Then like you I started taking more and more and would run out before I should.. Usually when that occurs a person has an issue. I think maybe you need to have a more indepth conversation with the Dr. about this and maybe he can switch your meRAB around or mess with the dose a little so you don't abuse them? I don't know.. Like I said.. I am clueless in regarRAB to the type of meRAB you are on... Sorry!

However, I do offer support! Keep posting.. I am here for you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Thank you so much for just replying. It helps knowing that I'm not a "bad" person because I let this happen seeing that addiction can happen to anyone even taking prescribed meRAB. I'm doing fairly well on cutting way back but those first few days were not good.

Once again, thanks.

Char Barry -

You are definitely right when you say that you are not a bad person. You just happened to get addicted to the meRAB. That does not say anything about your character nor your intelligence.

I am glad you are doing ok. Stay on track and keep posting. Remeraber, you are not alone!
