Devil

The film wasn't brilliant, but it was really enjoyable - if you like this sort of thing. It was predictable, I knew it was
the old lady
before he/she got in the lift. The dark bits were quite good though, there were a few scary bits in there too.

did you actually know from reading it somewhere online ?

or did you just take a wild guess ?

anyway, watched it today and quite liked it. handled the lift scenes quite well i think, and even though m. night shalmamalanam was involved, it was very watchable.

i know someone who would do just that actually. he's got previous - he's guessed who the baddie is in other films and it's turned out to be correct, he's always claimed to have known all along.

I just saw on IMDB that the running time is just 80 minutes. By the time you take off the adverts it's not much longer than an hour long drama on BBC1.

Its 20 minutes longer :D

A lot of films are around the 90 minute mark now, because they find people become getting bored, agitated or something when we get past this point - which I find really stupid if people can't sit and watch a 2 hour film then they don't watch it, simple really isn't it.

I'm allowing for 10 minutes of credits. Most films seem to be geeting a ridiculous amount of time on the credits these days. That takes it down to about 70 minutes.

The killer is the least likely suspect, so it's hardly a wild guess. It's been the least likely suspect since Agatha Christie's days.

And the twist where
she's not really dead
was already done in
Saw.

I thought it was okay, nothing special but entertaining enough. And it's 75 minutes long.

It's was better than any of the other shit M Night Shyamalan has put his name to in recent years, but that's not exactly difficult.

I'm indifferent about this film.

Whilst I don't think it was poor, it was better than average.

I thought it was quite unpredictable.

My only gripe is that it is a film that you can only watch once, because once you've seen it, you probably wouldn't enjoy it again.

God help any of these peeps nowadays sitting through movies like 'Once A Time In America' ......they'd be bringing their duvets in and snoring all through it and waking up in time for a McDonalRAB.

Yes, it was very unpredictable. I thought it was going to be someone else, not who it was (the devil).

I went to see it today. Personally, I thought it was too short. The effects were really good and on the money, I kept jumping at the slightest BANG, even though I'm 18 heheh. (not saying you shouldn't be scared, but imagine a 15 year old watching it)

I'm in love with Logan Marshall-Green.

I actually thought it was alright. Not usually a fan of Shymalan's work, (apart from The Sixth Sense and Signs) but this wasn't bad.

The film was very similar to another film of strangers with a 'background' stuck in a lift together. I can't think of the name, but it was on Sky Movies Premier about a month ago. This just had the added supernatural stuff.

Think I'd describe it as Paranormal Activity meets Saw. In a lift. :D

I saw this last night with my boyf, and he was a bit worried that he'd picked another turkey after seeing 'Legion' a while ago, but he was surprised that I actually quite enjoyed it.

I didn't guess who the Devil was going to be, I was just rooting for them to die early on because I found them quite annoying. I actually thought the film could stand to be a bit longer, but then I thought the same about 'Legion'. Both kinda similar with the whole devil/demon/god thing, but both felt like they needed to be a bit longer and have a bit more explanation. I was satisfied with the ending too, which is always a bonus.

I thought it was going to be a horror (fright a minute) film, so was pretty pleased it wasn't. I don't like horror movies - not because they scare me - but I don't find them especially entertaining.
