Desperatly looking for I diagnosis

I would get her thyroid checked again...by a reputable and knowledgeable endocrinologist. Most MD's like to only test the TSH & T4 levels, and if one or the other happen to fall within the so-called "normal range", they write it off and conclude that the thyroid is functioning properly...when in fact, it might not be. Make sure they test for antibodies for Hashimoto's and Grave's...have them do a complete thyroid panel that includes TSH, Free T4, Free T3, T3 uptake, & antibodies. Also...has she ever had her B-12/Folate levels tested? As for the digestive issues...I agree with testing for Celiac's disease. Have you also considered Candida? So many of the symptoms you listed that she is having can overlap lots of conditions. What about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? And I'm sorry...I disagree with your comment that Fibromyalgia is not a "real disease". Tell that to the millions of people that have been diagnosed with it and have to live with the condition, every single day!

Thank you for your specific suggestions. This is information we can really use. Without our own medical training, it's hard to know when to question if the Dr says they've checked the thyroid.

I want to clarify about fibro. I don't mean to say that people suffering from it are not really suffering. I am just saying that the fancy title is often mis-used as a lame excuse for Drs not to try to find out what is really going on with someone. In my wife's case, she was diagnosed with firbo simply on the basis that the rheumatoidologist ruled out other common rhemuamtic problems other things and by process of elimination said it must be fibro. What I am saying is that is that in my wife's case, it is not a sufficient and properly come to diagnosis.

Thank you for your help. We appreciate it. We'll get her thyroid checked again and specifically ask for these tests.

Dr. Steere is a highly controversial doctor...many "lymies" wouldn't consider consulting him for a number of reasons...some doctors may be experts in their fields and some may be experts at self promotion.

Given the multiple experts have found nothing, it may be worth considering the lyme diagnosis again, but with a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor that is endorsed by Lyme patients. Tests are very unreliable so a clinical diagnosis is used to id this condition, tests may or may not support the diagnosis.

But again, I think you need to seriously reconsider Lyme. There's some excellent info on the Lyme boards.

Good luck!
