Desperately need info on pretrial investigations?

Long story short, received a Domestic Violence charge (3rd degree assault) I did not commit (again, this is the short version). I chose to do the pretrial investigation. I have my investigative appointment tonight and would really like to know what things things are about and what to expect. My entire life is on the line with this thing.

By the way, I have a clean record, never even DEALT with the police.
