Describe a picnic or meal that you ate outdoors.

The last picnic I made we went up to this park that over looks the ocean here in Puerto Rico. My husband and I plus our children. We had found this place before and thought it was perfect for a day outdoors, and a picnic dinner. We found a grassy spot that had a picnic table, and I set up a grill.

I made grilled NY strip steaks, that I had marinated in balsamic vinegar and seasoned with salt and pepper. I had par boiled some baby white potato's, and tossed them in olive oil, red wine vinegar, and herbs. I made a foil packet and placed them on the grill about half an hour before the steaks. And a simple salad of avocado and tomato.

I had brought real dishes and flat wear the tablecloth and glasses. It was so fantastic. The view was amazing, the breeze was steady so there were no bugs. We all enjoyed the meal and the setting. And it was really so little trouble to do We are going to make it an annual event.
 
I gave up eating outdoors. Did it when the kids were young while we camped each year and that was fine. Today I like to stay away from the bugs, and especially the flies. Like to dine in a place that has linen napkins and table clothes and to feel like I am being pampered.
