I finally got round to watching this the other day, was the worst Derren Brown I have ever watched. Terrible!

I'm a longtime follower of Derren's. I've read bits of his books but not fully, and I do have a great respect for his craft and the shows he is capable of putting on, but there was simply no worth to be found in this one. And I don't understand your references to the Lottery prediction and Russian Roulette, they were both clearly fake as hell, but the presentation was a lot more interesting and compelling (especially the Russian Roulette).

I mean it's not even the fact that it wasn't really a guy being worked on until he becomes courageous enough to take the controls of a plane amongst other impressive deeRAB; I never expected to be convinced by that. But I was expecting a lot more effort to blur the lines between genuine psychology and illusion, it just seemed like there was little attempt to make it even remotely convincing, and I'm staggered you seem to have fallen for it, especially if you're as much of a fan of Derren's as you claim.

I don't wish to sound rude but I trust my friend and he said the people who were "randomly" chosen, at least 50% of them were behind the curtain in the afternoon before the show started. I am not saying that he always does that, but for that show, the one where a good friend works at, it 100% happened.

Now see, I have a friend at uni who is able to hypnotise people, and believe me, sceptical as I was before he showed me doing it to a few people, he was able to control them - nothing to the extent that Derren is claiming to be able to do, but things like not being able to unlock their hanRAB or forgetting where they live.
He tried it on me, and it didn't work. Apparently this can happen.
After watching this, I'm pretty convinced that even Matt was in on it - the whole train track thing was just ridiculous as was all that crap about being in the superintendents house. But, it was entertaining, if not laughable.

i turned it off just after he made his escape from the policeman's house, after everything looked and felt fake.

its a shame cos with a bit of effort he could of at least made it watchable.
