Derren Brown Live: Hero at 30,000 feet, C4 10pm

Haha, yes, that's right. I have now changed my opinion completely, and I think Derren genuinely does hypnotise all those people into doing things, and forgetting about them.

Well done for following so closely.

(Or... maybe - I'm saying why would it need to be faked on DB's shows it IF it's possible to do all those things with hypnosis - which that page you linked to suggested it is. My stance is that it IS NOT possible to do such things. )

I actually retracted the past life thing as I mentioned it due to a failure to read the page properly. Please do tell me about your past life though. I'm all ears.

I fear that this show is too much for the lack of intelligence on this thread.

Just watch it instead of talking rubbish.

It's absolutely clear that the prelude is not live.

The bit after the break will be.

Silly hat. Silly troosers. Silly wooden actors. Silly, SILLY show!

I think Derren Brown is in danger of actually believing his own hype now! :o

Some of the passengers, who were probably camera crew, were using these Flip HD cameras. There is a bit towarRAB the end of the flight where there is some turbulence and Matt says "Is this normal?". As he leans forward you can clearly see the guy in the row behind left sneakily taking some footage.

AS I said to other poster in my last post, some people will never be happy. Derren puts a lot into his art and has integrity and belief in what he does,If you and others stil want to cry fake then I repeat you will never be happy with any explanation other than your own. Because the majority want to cry fake and fraud means it is then? Oh right!
Sad.

Just had to comment on this - yes he explained to us the audience and the unwitting participant how this was all achieved - i.e. by pure mathematics etc. But I think you are forgetting how the show ended?

He basically placed a final bet himself, a so called "real beat" since there were no other particpants left. And since the horse he chose then won - he made it look like he could in fact predict the winner of the horse race.

Of course, this was just a trick I'm sure - but it was presented to us the audience that even though the previous 95% of the show could be explained by statistics/mathematical certainty - Derren could actualy predict the winner of the race using his 'abilities'.

The only reason I mention this is the fact you berated someone for mentioning that Derren predicted the race results - when in fact he 'did' at the end.

Anyway, this new show was a lot of old cobblers. The biggest annoyance for me was the cut to camera angles when Matt was in the garden for the first time. It was obvious that the cut angle (which showed Derrens face and a little bit of Matts hoody) - it wasn't even Matt, it was obviously someone else in the hoody and that this shot was filmed after.

Funny how in this show Derren is demonstrating a lot of capabilities that he often claims are impossible and debunks.

All his shows are thought provoking. It does make me laugh when people come on here saying... that was fake.

OF COURSE IT WAS FAKE! :)

You enjoyed the horse racing show more because he let you into the secret. He showed how it worked. It didn't really leave you thinking though did it????

The lottery show/live shows etc. Leave you with unanswered questions. The first thing you want to know after you see a magic trick is how it is done.

What is annoying you/making you dislike the newer shows is the feeling you are being duped. You want there to be a scientific/mathematical explanation... even though you know there isn't one!

Hmm i'm not sure how to make this clearer (remember my comment about my second bottle of wine above - hence clouding my judgement). Here goes

I'm not fooled - the millions who watched it and sold their eyeballs the the advertisers were.

Job accomplished.

It was entertainment - it didn't matter how it happened, it didn't matter where the lie was (it's magic so there is a lie somewhere) the enjoyment you gained in return for selling your eyeballs to the advertisers was working out where the lie was. However, don't moan that your feel abused becuase you were lied too.

The first bit bored me, the second bit was too obvious. I know how I would have achieved the stunt - I accpet that's not necessarily how DB did it but I don't care. I just see that it wasn't magic as some seem to think it was.
