Oh yeah. I'd forgotten about that 60 seconRAB thing but that was bloody awful.

You can't edit an arbritary countdown onto a piece of footage that has already been shot! That's just ludicrous! The countdown is meaningless and is obviously going to be longer than however long he took, because the countdown duration was chosen after the editors knew how long he took!

It's things like that that really annoy me about Derren. But aside from all the bull, I did generally enjoy this programme (under the assumption that Matt was real, and that too many people would know if he wasn't and Derren could not get away with that).

I agree. It wasn't really a magic show; just a hidden-camera show, and that is really the only level I enjoyed it on. I would actually have enjoyed this more if it hadn't been Derren, and we had more assurance the guy was real.
 
I haven't screamed anything. I've put my point across respectfully. If you don't agree, that doesn't mean it is screamed.

I have argued with people many times on this forum and disagreed, but never felt the need to put anyone on ignore.

Yet, you seem to pull me up on every comment I make and disagree, employing a trollish straw man stance on everything- never addressing the bulk of the argument.

I also realise it's not twitter. Odd comment.
 
Jeez - even an utter clown would realise the difference between a sim and the real thing.

What would be awesome though is Matt, live, turning to camera and going "hey - I've just been playing along - I knew it was all bullsh!t!!!" :D:D
 
I'm going to say something really outrageous- then when you come back at me and mock it, I'm going to sarcastically jibe back (every single time) with "More facts" because that really proves my opinion doesn't matter...

I mean, why bother expressing any logic or opinion at all, when you can simply berate everyone else in two worRAB?

Wow, really didn't expect to see the thread full with negative posts about the show...

I personally with the odd suspicion about it as many parts looked staged/fake, enjoyed it and thought this was a major improvement from the russian roulette last year.
 
Some might call it heroism.

Some might say it was irresponsible and reckless to the point of lunacy!

Whether Matt was an actor, a willing stooge or 'genuinely' hypnotised innocent is all a bit beside the point.

As a TV show it failed to convince and in itself it was annoying and cringe-making rather than entertaining.

I think the most cringeworthy moment was probably when Derren was spying on his protege through the net curtains and giving what looked like doting fatherly smiles...also the ending when Matt stepped out of the simulator was another pass-the-sick-bag moment.

It makes for a good talking point though, as this thread proves!
 
If the trick was supposed to be making the viewers believe it was real, he failed miserably. He has only to read this thread and he will see that people rumbled the fakeness soon after the programme started. But he obviously prefers to read the highly censored (or fake) posts on his blog.

The whole thing is quite ridiculous! Now he's meeting up with him in a field? And the man is not realising what exactly is going on? Right.

No we are using our brains to judge instead of being blind about anything. It's called reason and logic, you might like to try it. Incidentally, he is (or was, at least) a member on here. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he had read some of these posts.
 
I just had an argument with my girlfriend over this, She thought it was amazing and couldn't see that he was obviously in a hypnotic state for most of if not all of the programme, The programme was all about him making a decision to take control over an aeroplane, yet he was obviously in a hypnotised state when he got up to volunteer, because Derren Brown put him to sleep by tapping him on the forehead before he entered the cockpit. I wish i could put people to sleep just by tapping them on the forehead. Also where did the street band suddenly appear from, that made me laugh. Derren Browns taking the piss now i thought.
