Hi,

I just got a DVD Recorder and [unsuccessfully] tried to get my 3100 remote to control it as the AUX device. Alas, a control code accidentally got stored in the remote. As a result, I can no longer use the AUX button to turn the TV on/off as I used to (whereby pushing the AUX buttom would power the TV on/off.)

Is there a way to delete the code programmed for the AUX device?

BTW, if anybody knows of a code for getting the 3100 to control a Toshiba D-R6 DVD recorder, I'd sure love to hear from you!!!!

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Why not just re-program it to control the TV again.?

Or as i hate tv says use the search function to program for the DVD and then program the TV button to control the actual TV.

I tried the "power search" method of looking for a code to control the DVD-R. Obviously I came up short. It is possible, due to interruptions from little boys, that I got timed-out at some point and, thereafter, was just re-trying the same code over and over! I may try it again this weekend when I might be able to get some free time without kids around. I may also try all of the Toshiba VCR/DVD player codes individually to see if they can, by chance, control the record/stop aspect of the DVD-R (I saw in another thread that somebody wasn't able to get the remote/receiver to power the DVD-R on/off but could get it to record/stop.)

As for reprogramming the TV, it was very handy to have a single-button on/off for the TV. Using the AUX button for that meant that I didn't have to switch to TV mode power on/off the TV and then remember to switch the mode back to satellite when trying to change channels etc. Now, with code "1616" programmed for the AUX mode device, I can no longer use this method (since pushing AUX simply switches to controlling the new AUX device.) This is why I'd like dis-associate any device from the AUX button.

I believe that if you remove the batteries and press buttons for a while it will fully discharge the Remote and remove all programming.
