Depressed, stressed and have very sudden sharp pains through out my head, is this...

...normal? I moved to the states about 5 months ago just to help out with my mom after she had a heart by-pass surgery. She obviously wasn't able to do things her self nor would i want her to, I wanted her recovery to be stress free. However in the mean time, it was like i went through a greiving process. I missed Canada, i missed working and seeing my friends, i missed my family and my sister was my best friend and with all that was going on i didnt see them for four months. Finally there was a time I was able to come back for a visit, when i left again to come back to the states, i went into a depression. My depression has got much worse now and im on anti depressents. but i have severe sudden pains in my head that usually last about 3- 5 seconds, it occurs in the back, front right, front left of my head. Just very random everywhere. Id say it occurs 5- 9 times a day for the last week or two. Is this common with depression and being very stressed?? Im scared and i have talked to my doctor and he seems to think its related to my depression and stress, but he has been wrong about things before and i would just feel satisfied with another opinion. please help!
