Where the plane goes, you go. Depending on your aircraft, you may deploy more or less than the norm. 60-120 day rotations every year are the norm, but it is a good job and while it is hard work and at times long hours, it is fun. You are the go to guy for all repair work, as you will get other maintenance shops involved with an aircraft repair(Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels, etc), and your name will be on the side of the plane. Fighter jets are fun to work with, but do not count out any heavy aircraft either. Heavy aircraft tend to go to more diverse places in the world. I worked on B-1's and think they are awesome planes, so if you get a chance to do bones, go for it.
