dent in courtesy car?

my wife banged our car and it was taken into the garage who gave us courtesy car.yesterday they dropped our car off and picked up the other one.the driver said there was a dent in the roof but my wife said it wasnt her.they demanded 100 pounds before they would give the car back.the wife phoned the insurance company who told her if the damage was done she would have to pay.she phoned the the manager of the garrage who aked her if she ad her copy of the bit of paper that showed damage to the car when she got it which she signed she said no i put it in the bin.the manager then said well its our word against yours.my wife needed the car so reluctantly gave the 100 pounds.when she got home she found the bit of paper and it says there is a dent to the roof.i work away and dont know what has happened today but surely we can get our money back.what is the best way of doing this.

send them a COPY of the paperwork which says there was already a dent in the roof, with a covering letter explaining you expect a refund promptly. They should have a copy of the form already because they are always done with carbon copy forms, so they knew full well they were screwing you. If they refuse, then contact a solicitor and claim your £100 back, plus interest, plus inconvenience and stress etc. Basically, screw them over like they've tried to do to you, I certainly would!
