And yet the education system around the country STILL got screwed! All their input, discussion, and teachers comments went on deaf ears, so what makes you think health care will be much different?
It will benefit no one (no matter who you name it after) it's still not going to make my premiums less, give me more coverage, nor will it make me any healthier. Unless we get on a universal health care system with a secondary health insurance option such as Aflack or some such, I'm still going to spend 1/3 to 2/3 of our monthly income in health insurance and the premiums will increase gradually for the next 10 yrs, I will still have to find "participating" doctors to get a better copay option and percentage paid.
You can say all you want about taxes going up but right now 1/3 of our income is going to insurance, I would like to pay less than 1/4th, equivalent of tax increase to pay for universal. We pay 38% in taxes now and we don't qualify for crap if something happened tomorrow. Paying 43% - a 5% increase - and not have to pay insurance premiums ever again nor a co pay, I am all for it.
Based on the average monthly income of middle class family of 4
Income at $2800 monthly x 38% = $1064 taxes / current rate
Income at $2800 monthly x 43% = $1204 taxes / rate with universal
A difference of $140 a month in health care coverage verses our current insurance premium of $128 a wk x4 = $512 a month
This is for a family of 4!
Amazing how the numbers don't lie.
