Murtha's aid won the Pennsylvannia Special Election (NOT primary) for Murtha's seat, in a county where Obama has less than 30% approval rating.

Steele and the Republicans were sure their guy would win, since the Democrat was Murtha's aid (establishment), and the district had such low approval ratings for Obama.

But the Democrat won, focusing on kitchen-table issues for a local election, NOT philosophical issues for a national election.

If Democrats run like this guy, about the local and kitchen table issues, instead of running for "majority" or philosophical reasons, they will easily retain their majorities in both House and Senate.

Whatever. Other than you, and the government press, who really cares. In that area of PA, the voters presented more ballots then teeth or brain cells.

Enjoy the win.

why? McCain won the district in 2008 and I thought the tide was turning against the Democrats.

It's just the special election to serve out Murtha's remaining term. The real test will be when the ACTUAL election happens.

Yeah man, totally. The revolution is full steam ahead. Totally. This representative in Pennsylvania is a solid example.

Why? McCain beat Obama there in 2008. If the public hates the Democrats like you conservatives keep saying, it should be an easy pick up.

I'll take a blue dog Democrat who votes with liberals 50% of the time over a douchebag Republican who votes with them 2% of the time.
