...Positions and pay ranges? I come to Y!A at the end of my junior year. English is my first language but I'm interested in getting a degree in Middle Eastern studies/Arabic/German or Spanish from the University of Manchester. I'm thinking about living in (by preference) Germany, Spain, or staying in England for my career.
Questions:
-What is the demand and figures for translators/interpreters in each country? (considering immigrants and businesses)
-Must I get a special degree to work with a language?
P.S. Security is important to me, I'm pushing the money in this question because I would love to have the financial means travel around Europe, Arabic countries, and Latin America. For my adult life, I want to immerse and learn from lots of cultures and friendships.
