Dell or build your own computer?

Building my own computer is much cheaper and I get a hell of a lot of beastliness from a computer with a Radeon 1gb 4850 graphics card and an Intel core 2 duo 3.00ghz CPU for $1200 (australian)

If I get something from Dell though the $1200 aus computers are crap. The one for $1399 has a 2.80ghz CPU and onnly a 256mb graphics card. I want to use my computer for games like GTA IV and UT 2008. The Dell computer would suck arse at GTA IV (I dont even think it would run). My build it yourself computer would probably run GTA IV at 30 FPS I think. IS that good anyway?

Anyway the real question is:
Should I get the Dell because it is already built and comes with an OS?
Or should I get the build your own computer because it will play good games well and it is $200 cheaper.

Be sure you know what you're doing before you start building your machine. I have seen real disasters with people building their own computer, then having compatibility issues. From what I've seen, people end up spending more money in the long run with building their own machine. You should do it more for the pleasure of building it yourself than to save a little money.

Also, if you get Dell, you get warranty and tech support.
