Deleted Scenes that you wish were kept in the film.

Hasn't there ever been a time when you wished a deleted scene from an animated movie was kept? I've had several moments of this.

The Little Mermaid is my biggest culprit, as I felt the film suffered from being too short and too unexplained. The deleted Fathoms Below earned my liking for explaining the film a little better. I also liked the extra lyrics of Poor Unfortunate Souls, it gave a bit more flare to the song.

I also prefer the Maurice version of Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast. The Belle version of Be Our Guest, to be honest, strikes me as mean spirited since the servants could be putting on this performance just to reach their goal of breaking the spell. The Maurice version seemed kinder to me.

Duke's death in G.I. Joe the Movie. The whole 'he slipped into a coma' line felt completely out of place. I'm sorry, Scarlett, are you a doctor now? You can tell someone's slipped into a coma without even checking their pulse?

"If I Never Knew You" duet in Pocahontas. Such a powerful song of love that was sadly excised (though one hears the instrumental several times like when John Smith and Pocahontas meet).

In Lilo and Stitch there was an animated scene where you see Stitch act all destructive in an alien city.
I thought that would've been nice to see kept in the film. Otherwise his talks of powerful evil destructive end up being all talk.
Of course that would effect Lilo and Stitch 2's plot. Not that that's bad, though.

I remember when I was little I saw the deleted scene from Snow White where they used a broom to get the soap out of Dopey. I was so sad when I found out that was a deleted scene.

I also like the Be Prepared reprise from the Lion King.

Wasn't there a scene where Stitch actually kills Lilo's pet fish? I understand why it would have been cut, but it also would make Stitch's turn around from 'force of nature' to having a conscious seem more significant.

This is also my choice, and I believe they did the right thing by reincluding it in the dvd. It really connects the film together and believe it or not Mel did a good job. As for the reason it was taken out to begin with, sure I can understand for the time it was made but now most of the film's audience is older and can appreciate it.

The scene in "Family Guy Viewer Mail #1" involving the zombie of Jackie Gleason. That whole thing was some of their funniest material and it's criminal it wasn't fully animated.

Chris holding Gleason's severed arm: "This'll go great with my Ernie Kovacks eyeball!"
Remember when the show was this witty?

While we're on the subject of Family Guy there's no way we can't mention "The List" song that's only on the DVD of "Lois Kills Stewie". It's not really a deleted scene, since it's part of the episode on the DVD, but it would be great if it had made it to the broadcast version.

There's a lot of Family Guy deleted scenes that are a lot funnier that what actually makes it to air. I loved the 'Wal-Mart logo goes on a slashing spree' bit that got cut out.

It's not really a deleted scene since it never made it to animation period, but Buzz Dixon's script for 'My Little Pony the Movie' would have included Northstar (I think) running into one of the Transformers and Shipwreck while on her quest to bring Megan and the Rainbow of Light back to Dream Valley.

Even though I dislike family guy quite a lot. Family guy also had a few planned scenes that never got off the storyboards. I remember hearing something about Lois's cousin who was crazy and was in a cage. My brother was talking about this, but I don't remember the episode though. It sounded like it was cut because it was too dark. It would have been interesting IF it is executed right instead of being pulled off for laughs.

I wish that they kept that footage that was edited out of Black Claudron to avoid the PG13 rating. I saw Black Claudron years ago(need to watch it again) and I said to myself as I was watching it. "Looks like Disney was trying to cross the line, but they didnt go over it." Even Disney should know most of its audience are adults(heck some of them are into fantasy stuff.) I dont know if this was true or not, but there was a planned scene for Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Where Wolf{From tex avery's red hot riding hood} would have been seen during Jessica's performance. I would have enjoyed this if it was true.

Lilo and Stitch had a lot of good scenes that had to be cut. In particular, there was an interesting scene about Lilo's distaste for tourists.

Agreed, and I've got a second one for that movie. I wish that they would've gone forward with having Zarana topless in the scene where she removes her disguise.

I wish they had kept the original ending of The Land Before Time so none of the sequels get made:

They get to the Great Valley, but turns out to be the afterlife.

Aww, come on now! They weren't all bad.

...or maybe that's just the blinding, childhood nostalgia talking. Could be, though I'll have to pop in one of those old VHS tapes to know for sure (if I even still have any of them, that is). I haven't watched a Land Before Time movie in almost ten years.

Not a movie, but I wish they would have kept all the deleted scenes from the Simpsons episode "Treehouse of Horror IV", namely the Devil and Homer Simpson segment. They were all hilarious, but that was a great episode so choosing stuff to cut due to time was probably hard. I have to wonder why they didn't put them in the DVD though (they are included as storyboard extras, but not as deleted scenes proper).

Hutz: Well, we didn't win, here's your pizza.
Marge: But we won!
Hutz: Perfect! The box is empty.

:D

I didn't think some of those sequels were that bad either. Besides, having all of the characters end up dying and getting to the afterlife after their struggle to get to the Great Valley would have been way too depressing. Especially when the death of Littlefoot's mom was already heartbreaking as it was.

After seeing the Pocahontas tenth anniversary DVD awhile go, I also agree that it would have been nice to see "If I Never Knew You" kept it. It did make that scene the night before John Smith's execution more touching and having some version of that song in the movie would provide explanation as to why there was a romantic longer version for the credits.
