Eastenders was intended for launch in January 1985 but it was pushed forward a month for some reason

do you know of any other times where the start date of a TV show has been pushed forward or back

The first season of 24 was delayed by a month (from October to November 2001) due to the September 11 attacks and the first episode was edited to remove a shot of an aeroplane exploding.

Glad this thread has come up. My oldie memory kicked in from something I wrote in 'Sitcom to be revived' thread this morning.' I remember the big up for a new version of Love Thy Neighbour to star the attrocious Derek Laud (from Big Brother 6 in 2005.) I vaguely think I did see a scrap of the show somewhere on TV, but since then nothing. Oh dear, that crap huh! :D

Heavens. just watched the clip. Taking back what I said elsewhere. The potential for taking the mick, well I'm all for it. Since Laud first appeared I have met these people in real life, I work in WanRABworth. Laud is not acting, that's him and those in a similar vein all the way. Please put this show on terrestial NOW.

I've seen an episode- you'll not watch more than twenty minutes, trust ;)

Went to pilot and abandoned, with good reason sadly :o :(

Thanks to plymgary for that find :) ;)

It first aired on October 29th 1979, five days after the strike ended. I think it was due to be shown in the new Autumn schedules, starting early September, as you rightly said.
