Defragging the TX?

Does anyone know if there is a way to defragment the NVFS memory
in a TX other than a Hard Reset. I am planning on using UDMH to increase the dymanic Heap. The developer says that if the memory is to fragmented
a hard reset will help. I really don't want to hard reset if there is another way.

ps I heard somewhere that the cleanup at the end of a hotsync would
defrag the memory but that must not be true.

I've done hard resets on both my T5 and 650 with no apparent change in "defrag".

The only way I've seen a defrag mentioned by those developers who promote it is to hard reset the device.

Sounds like an idea for bright Palm OS programmer to come up with a defrag app!! There is virtually every other app out there... why not this??? Any takers??? :)

I doubt for most people that NVFS fragging is a big deal; one woukld have to be low on memory, and/or have loaded/uninstalled a large number of apps/dbs given the large available storage space.....I would have thought that, for almost any purpose (even games console emulators) much more than 12 Mb dynamic heap is overkill anyway, regardless of what these things need in terms of the largest continuous block available...
