Hi all,
This is my first post here. I am just so frustrated. I have had acne for at least 10 years, although only on my face. I have been going to this Derm for over 2 years now and they can't seem to find the right solution. I have been on so many different creams that I can't even count. I was on Doxycycline for almost a year and a half. It worked well for a while, but then stopped being effective. Most recently I have been put on Spironolactone, and my acne has only gotten worse. I am now getting very deep, sore, cystic type acne on my chin...to the extent that my chin very sore and painful and is almost twice the size it should be. I;m at wits end, I just want a solution that works. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much,
Cathy

Dairy has been linked to acne in some people. Do you consume a lot of dairy? If so you might want to experiment and see if cutting or at least not consuming as much of it in your diet helps. Otherwise, you can talk to your derm about retinoiRAB, bp, salicylic acid, etc.

I had the same problem and the only thing that actually worked was Accutane. No topical preparation will touch this type of acne. It just makes the surface of your skin sore but the deep cyst is still there.

Cortisone shots in those large cysts really worked for me! A month later, and my jawline is starting to look normal again. A Derm can do it, and insurance covers it.
