Presently, I have a Windows Mobile 6.1 phone. I'm perfectly happy with the OS, but I'm concerned that Microsoft doesn't know a good thing when they see it, and they won't put the effort into 7.0 that will be needed to get the developer community onboard. Consider the lame commercials they've run recently with the dancing Office app characters, against the iPhone and Android commercials.

Anyway, I want to stay with Sprint, so an iPhone is out. I've tried a Pre, but I think Palm will have the same issues as MS. I have one serious requirement of whatever phone I have-we don't have a certificate on our server at work, and the issue I had setting up the Pre was that the domain name and IP for the e-mail needed to be different, and ours is the same, because our e-mail is all pulled down by Exchange and then distributed internally. On the Pre, at least originally, this wouldn't work because the e-mail client needed a domain name and a separate IP. We're running Small Business Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003.

Has anyone set up an Android in this situation? Before I jump ship, I need to be sure that I'll be able to get my office e-mail.
 
Can you explain what you mean by a separate domain name and IP? Are you saying the mail server address you need to hit does not match the MX record for your domain? That might be an issue if the mail client on the Pre doesn't allow you to enter settings manually but instead tries to find the server address on its own. Having never used WebOS, I don't know if that's the case.

My device (G1) doesn't have exchange so I have no experience with the Android Exchange client, but the POP and IMAP clients allow you to enter settings manually.
 
The Pre required an IP address and a domain name. They couldn't be the same-one had to be www.yourdomain.com and the other a numeric IP for the Exchange server. Because I just have to hit the Exchange server for my e-mail, both items are the numeric IP for our setup.
