Deciding on a major... education?

I am a sophomore in college and I really need a major, obviously. The only thing that I've ever really thought about being is a teacher but I don't want to declare that and end up finding something I'd like better. I just don't know if I can see myself doing that everyday. I like kids, I'm patient... what are some things that might help me decide, like certain traits I should have?
 
Well you can change majors whenever you want I believe,so maybe you just need a bit more time to decide what you really want to do......good luck,you will figure it out.........
 
Should take an education class and see if you like it. Are you looking for elementary education, or secondary education with a specialization in a certain field? If you're not sure which one, or an education class doesn't fit into your schedule meet with an adviser in the education department and talk with them. The best way to find an adviser is to talk to someone you know in the major and they'll tell you what professors are helpful and which are not, if that's not possible talk to the department secretary and she'll send to someone who will help!
