Decent cases for TX?

I'm sure this is an 'old' thread but it new for me!

Does anyone know of a decent rugged, closable case for the TX as I have tried the InnoPocket Aluminium case and my TX rattled around in there when I had to move quickly to the point that the case front would pop open at the worst possible times! :rolleyes:

I am NOT keen on those big plastic waterproof, etc. cases (see Proporta) that you almost have to bury your PDA to protect it but something that you can wear around office, outdoors, etc. and it does look too bad/industrial, is that being unreasonable? :confused:
 
I have had several Palms, ending at the moment with the T3. I have tried many cases including Palms own; but I have ended using Krusell cases for all devices, Palm, Nokiaphone etc. They are verstile, comes in many version and are tailored to your device.
I see, you are english, which is an advantage in this case, as "add-ons-world" is english and can deliver on short notice what you need.

CaseLogic, I have had a Strongman for several years now and not only does it hold more than just my T5, it is rugged. It's survived two trips to Afghanistan, and numerous other adventures. The attachment system scuffs the sides of my Palm a bit, but that is not a major issue with me. Overall I highly recommend it!

Well i use the regular Palm T|5 aluminum case for my T|X and it's survived my rather, dangerous and trecherous school bag (if you know what i mean, books, bag gets chucked around a bit etc.). Been very happy with it as well as the same Palm aluminium case i had for my T|E.
 
Yeah, looks like I may have to fall back on that but I really wanted something that has a belt clip as my trouser pockets are usually full up, especially at work!
 
I use the Innopocket alum.case. It sounds to me like you are not using the plastic insert on the inside of the case. It slides in the TX from the bottom up and it doesnt rattle around at all, ever. I keep both on my belt with a CaseLogic Neoprene case. It has a snap lock on the front and the belt loop has a locking catch at the bottom. I have used both for years (with prior model Palms) and never had a bit of problem. It goes all over Dallas on Crime Scenes, in the rain, snow, summer heat, in the woods. The Innopocket isnt even dented or hardly scratched at all. I even bought another size CaseLogic case for my cellphone with the BlueTooth headset. It holds both of them, and no one I can find makes one to fit both, so I improvised. I had been through two broken headsets in as many months before I got the case, and now it has been at least 7 months without a problem. Besides that way I can look like a two gunner.
 
Yes, I did use the plastic insert on the inside and that wasn't the issue, my TX DIDN'T fit in the case snugly and rattled so when I had to move quickly...it rattled enough to pop the 'flimsy' catch and swing open!!
I don't want to have to have a case of a case...which is what it sound like you've done!
 
I've been using the Palm aluminum case for the last little while and have no complaints. PN is 3175WW. Took a bit of getting used to the locking mechanism but have not had any problems with it thus far.
 
I had the same problem, but fixed it by putting strips of foam insulation tape at strategic points. I also stow a few PostIt notes in the back of the case. It took some adjustment, but now the TX is snug in the case, nothing touches the screen, and the latch stays shut.

All for about five cents worth of insulation tape left over from winterizing.
 
I've used an original palm case for sometime with my old Tungsten E and went and purchased another one for my TX. However, I'm not that impressed. The quality seems a bit poor. The hinges catch, and the latch that holds it closed has just broken... Still, I wouldn't want to not have a hard case for my palm - I'm just WAY too clumsy!
 
I have a Vaja leather case for my Sony Clie. It was unusual in that it was molded to exactly fit and hold the Clie without the need for a snapped tab to keep it closed. I intend to order another Vaja case for my new TX. Their quality is absolutely superb. However, not cheap.
 
I should have added that their current cases for the TX (and others too, I think) do have a tab with a snap. The only thing about that is that it eventually will become scuffed probably. And it isn't as clean looking as my molded case is/was.
