Deceased Actors/Actresses

OK, this one might seem a little morbid but if you could bring back any deceased actor or actress to star in a modern day movie, who would you bring back and what film would you have them star in?

I'd bring back Clark Gable and I'd like to see him play Ralph Fiennes' part in "The English Patient"

I would want to resurrect Tupac and Biggie, just to see if they identify with those whittering on about who shot who and if the crap in the charts is their oRABpring.

Oh sorry, they branched into movies after failing in music, it must be catching.

I'd like to see Edward G. Robinson back walking the earth - doesn't matter what role he's in, because whatever it is he'd just be nothing less than perfect.

I'd definately like to see River Phoenix back.. As for which movie he should star in i'm not too sure.. Maybe something along the lines of Jared Letos character in Requiem For a Dream (but maybe he'd be a bit old for that and what with it being about drugs.....)

Syd james, Hattie jaques, Joan syms,.Kenneth Williams, Kenneth connor, charles hawtrey, Harry H Corbet, Beranard Breslow, Frankie Howard.....for one last Carry on film.

James Dean! just to see if he would have gone onto bigger and better things! Oh and Marilyn Monroe to see if she would have got the chance to be a serious actress like she wanted and to see if she would have been any good at it!!

Agree about James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. I think they would've been great in a film together too. Their style of acting (Method Acting) was very similar.

Lon Chaney... just to see what he could do with todays prosthetic make-up and CGI effects.

Lawrence Olivier... just to watch him giving Kenneth Brannagh a lesson in acting.

i remember seeing chris farley on jay leno (nbc europe) not long before he died. he was promoting beverly hills ninja- when he came out a load of frat boys in the audience went wild-he stood out of his chair a second time to receive applause.-jay screened some outtakes from "ninja" where chrisvirtually knocked himself senseless running into props (by accident)-he then stood up and started to do press ups in front of the desk his weight was so great the stage started to come apart-he was breathless and sweating heavily-my brother commented at the time "hes gonna have a heart attack!"-i also recall david spade commenting on chris-again shortly before his death-"he smokes, drinks, eats a lot, drinks coffee and no exercise"- ironically-chris was a huge admirer of the late jhn belushi and was killed by exactly the same method-a speedball.
sadly around this time the great phil hartman (another saturday night live descendant) was murdered by his wife (shot dead)-she was alledgedly a cocaine user who then commited suicide orphaning their children.
VERY SAD losses-BOTH.
i posted in another SNL forum a sketch i remembered from 12-15 years ago which featured hartman as (then) president clinton and farley as a "hulk hogan" esque all-in wrestler who had got mixed up in line with a bunch of visiting japanese dignitaries.
farley approaches "clinton" then gowes into one of his "OOH CLINTON!!!!" wrestling rants-VERY FUNNY stuff-wish some UK channel would buy these SNL gems!

I would have liked to have thought that both would have gone on to do bigger and better things, however, I feel that due to the Hollywood system of the time they'd probably languish in bland repetitive roles, becoming ever more depressed and drug dependant, and finally being dropped unceremoniously after they'd exhausted their limited shelf-life and star appeal :(

That said, it'd be nice to see them both in 'just one more film' *sigh*
