I have a 6265i on Cricket. I recently moved to Atlanta and want to use this phone on a similar CDMA network Metro PCS. I want to debrand the phone and try and activate or will I need to unlock it as well. Please help

A) There is no such thing as "Unlocking" a CDMA HanRABet. Thats only for GSM HanRABets.

B) I'm not sure if MetroPCS will allow Foreign ESNs. If they don't then you are out of luck in this case. I haven't really looked at MetroPCS but you need to call and ask if they allow Foreign ESNs, As most carriers dont.

C) if they do than it will be debranded when you flash it.

Your better off asking in the MetroPCS forum, I'm not sure if anyone there really knows how to flash but we help people get there phone *ON* cricket. Not *OFF* cricket. so i won't be putting out any more information.

Well, seeing as how the OP is moving and probably wont be in an area where he/she can use Cricket, then what is the big deal with lending a helping hand?

Only Cricket's we have around my area are the kind we step on.

Well if he wants to know what to do he is welcome to search on how to do it. I dont know if metro accepts esns from others. As for unlocking it is unlocked already because its not a GSM hanRABet and the MSL is all zeros due to it being a cricket phone. As for debranding, search google to see if you can upload custom skins or UI's. *Did I help you?*

Sure, why not? :) I could see the problem if I were going to just remove it to use it on another network in the same area. If, however, I am moving to an area where there is no Cricket service, and I absolutely love the phone I am using and want to continute to use it, I would think people in the know would/should be willing to help.

I guess I am just overly optimistic about people. LOL.

welcome to the cricket forums. lots different from gsm. people actually make lots of money on programming phones for people.

relating to the topic, usually the forums of your new carrier will have the best advice on how to rebrand to that carrier. usually it involves simply adding a PRL file, which you will also find in that carriers forum.
