Debating on an Apple TV, need help?

to really take advantage of visual material from itunes (that i hope will be in HD), you need a HD TV (high definition) which you have to buy. The Apple TV connects to the TV and receives the files form your computer through the broadband network, which is basically wireless internet (for which you have to pay a fee to your internet provider and make sure you have a wireless modem). The apple TV then streams all your media files through your TV, it's worth it if you have lots of TV Shows and movies (and music videos).

So, i've been wanting to watch my iTunes tv shows and movies on my tv, but i don't think you can burn them onto a dvd. I was thinking about getting an Apple TV, but i really don't know anything about it, i looked it up online but i kinda didn't understand. I have a few questions. First, you don't get an actual tv when you buy it, right? And on the website it said you needed broadband internet but i dont know what that means and it said there might be a fee but like when would there be a fee? And if you could also tell me any general information about the Apple TV that would be great, thanks.
