I am married, with 3 kids. I have been the "bread winner" thus far in our marriage. If I return to college, and just bank it all on student loans, are there any prgrams that would help me cover the cost of housing so I dont have to sell my house as well?

I am in the "auto" industry, so far, anyway, and am looking to go in to medical or teaching field.

Becoming a full time student is going to really limit my income, and my wife makes meager earnings. We made just a bit too much to qualify for a Pell grant, but of course, they will give me student loans to pay for college.

What are my options?

Thats funny, my husband and I were contemplating this as well. We already both finished college, but wanted to go back- I for teaching and him for nursing. You should look at the major's class requirements, and perhaps you can take 2 classes at once while you are still working, most colleges have night and weekend classes. Also, try a community college to start out with, they will be a LOT cheaper, then the last 2 years you can finish in a senior college.

They determine financial aid based partly on your prior years taxes. You can take out student loans, or you can dip into your savings/401K. Perhaps your wife can take on more hours to help out too?
