Debate: Would you choose to be a Catholic or agnostic and why?

I'm just wondering... if you were having a debate over becoming a Catholic, what statements would you bring up to defend/prosecute and why?
 
Neither as neither one teaches what the Bible says. They are full of pagan and manmade teachings and doctrines. Jesus warned to stay away from apostates and their religions.
 
agnostic.

i am an athiest and it is somewhat closer. agnosticism [?] is basically believing there is no way to know if there is a god or not. i was agnostic for a while. mainly, i think it is impossible to prove there is a god, and if i were agnostic, i would also think it is impossible to prove otherwise.
 
I made my choice to become Catholic back in the early '70's. Based on historic and Scriptural evidence, I have reason to believe that the Catholic Church is the only denomination founded by Jesus Christ Himself. Catholicism can trace the papacy in an unbroken line back to St. Peter, who was given all spiritual authority by Jesus.

That's why I became Catholic and have remained so.
 
Why not be an agnostic Catholic? People are not simply agnostic, they are agnostic somethings, either atheists or theists. Agnosticism isn't a middle ground, a fence sitting position. It is a positive assertion about the nature of knowledge, of what can be asserted as factual (or virtually so) and what must remain forever within the realm of belief. You can be agnostic in that you will not assert beliefs about God(s) or lack thereof as factual, but you will still have those beliefs. If you belief that because of the agnostic assertion regarding the nature of knowledge about divinity, that it is an area of fruitless speculation and you don't want to bother with it, I think that still puts you in the ranks of agnostic atheism.
 
i choose to be agnostic, based on the concept that reality is only what we as individuals perceive it to be, meaning outside of your own existence, there is nothing more to be known, and thus all else is unknown/unknowable. the only thing you know for certain, is whats right infront of you.
 
Definitely Catholic. Why? They are believers.
An agnostic is on the same level as an atheist in my opinion.
 
Not MUCH of a debate, it has to be said... who would choose guilt, fear and pederasty over indifference?
 
Because the lines were too long at the scientology counter and the alcohol was wearing off.....
