Yesterday, I posted a question. What is your opinion on Global warming. 16 people replied. 4 believed it, 7 believe its a lie, 2, did not care, and 3 didn't know. So I want to continue this discussion with this- Read below. After you read my opinion, please state your opinion or educated guess...

I think that there are still many people who do not believe in Global warming. The bigger issue isn't just Global Warming, but Global Climate change. Overall climate is predicted to change; including increased rainfall in certain areas of the world. There is significant scientific evidence to indicate that CO2 emissions have risen over many years so this supports Global warming proponents. Long-term measurements in temperatures worldwide also indicated that global warming is not a conspiracy, but rather, a reality. I am not sure what evidence or reasons the conspiracists have for refuting CO2. What does the world have to gain by dealing with CO2 and addressing issues to reduce CO2?

We have had cyclic global temperature changes long before man started to pollute the atmosphere. I doubt man''s feeble efforts can change a natural cycle. rather , we need to learn how to adjust, adapt. There is a lot of money in "Green" and a lot of lies. Change to flourescent bulbs may seem like a great idea, until you break one in your house and have to spend $5,000 for the cleanup. Mercury bulbs must means more Hg in the fish, making a major source of food inedible. So we reduce carbon emissions and poison the environment with a more dangerous chemical- that's progress? It is a good thing to protect and preserve the environment as much as we can, but do not expect mankind to be able to turn around the trend to slow warming. This is something for the Scientists to solve, not the politicians.

Your opinion is pretty good, and is more or less consistent with that of most scientists.

You understand the difference between global warming and climate change, and that it is climate change which is the real cause for concern. That already puts you ahead of about 90% of the world's population (maybe more). Good for you.

Most of the evidence given by the conspiracy theorists can easily be debunked as being poor science. Some arguments are of course better than others, but typically the better an argument can stand up to scientific scrutiny, the less consequential it is in regards to the validity of the underlying thesis that anthropogenic CO2 is causing climate change.

i will assume all that you say is correct.the problem as i see it is the the greatest polluters, china and india are not on board.i know that china is making some effort but with the population they have and their attempts to modernize don't make up the difference.
unless and until the world decides it is a problem in the short run they will keep on keeping on.
the US can't solve it alone.

of course its real maybe not the exact technical stuff like greenhouse gas and stuff but were obviously destroying this planet (smog and development and overpopulation are obvious) and i think weve spent too much time debating this shit and we need to stop. i think there needs to be laws put in about overpopulation and limit to cars. i hate how we have so many damn cars every single one taking dumps on this beautiful planet of ours. no matter how many damn priuses we sell it wont matter, i think we should get rid of cars all together.

I think this is a great question. The question really for allot of doubters is not whether CO2 has increased it is whether that is the cause of global warming.

I think that this has legitimacy. Is this simple climate change or C02 increase?

I like many doubters wonder if this is the ENTIRE cause.

I think there is no downside to continue to research on this subject. Furthermore anything we can do to improve the environment is a good thing.

Reducing CO2 should continue to be pursued as any reduction on impact of our existence on our little blue planet cannot be a bad thing.

It is not a conspiracy to question new theories. How many times has your local weatherman been wrong. So we are supposed to discount that data and believe almost religiously that global warming is upon us and CO2 is the culprit because Al I lost (maybe) the election says so.

All of the sudden we can not only predict the weather but we can change it by driving a Prisus.

I believe it is not a lie

I am not sure of its cause

I think as a society it is always a good thing to act more responsible with in reason.

Thank you for the question
