debate on religion and the state/schools?

i live in ireland and its probably the same all over the world but the Catholic Church run our schools. We have to do a debate for english class and the debate we picked was "should religion influence the running of our schools and state?" Im against this motion but i need at least 3 solid points against it. on e of mine is that if for example the catholic church is running one school people of other religions in the school might feel discriminated against...anymore ideas??
