Debaffle C50T

I'm just curious what the current thinking on debaffling is. I went on a ride last weekend with a couple of Vulcan 900's, a '97 and '06. I couldn't help but notice how much quieter mine was. I thought they had to be at least 1100+ bikes. But they weren't. I really liked the sound of them. The '97 had aftermarket pipes and the '06 was stock.

That got me to thinking about debaffling again. The reasons I'm not doing it right this second are:

Gas milage affected? (I got 59 mpg on my tank last weekend)
Engine Problems (My bike has been flawless over the 4,000 miles I've put on it)

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Read around a bit on the subject....It is more of a personal thing really. I have the C90 which didn't allow me to debaffle so I went with new cobra pipes :bluethum:. If I had the C50 I think I would have debaffeled them first, if I wasn't pleased then I would have bought a new set of aftermarkets. If you want the sound then do it!!!!!!!!

dont be scerd. i drilled thru the 3rd plate and i love the sound! i puts about 2-5 hp more it felt like or at least a lil more zip. ill be putting the k&n filter and a fuel prsr soon.

I have done 4 debaffles on C50's. One was my own bike at the time. I put another 4000 miles on before I traded it in. There hasn't been any problems with a single bike.
Send me a pm and you can ride up some evening and I send ya home in 30 minutes with some lower rumbling pipes.:bluethum:
The debaffle doesn't change things enough to worry about tuning it differently.
