Thought this was an interesting read.

Erm... right. Well to whoever made that quote i'd say that the term animation is accepted by most people to refer to any process of motion effect creation using frames individually created... And that it seems a rather vague paragraph... with loose suggestions and influences.

Interesting writing. A little eccentric, but it does raise some valid points. 'Animation' is perhaps a broad term and does tend to bring some unwanted ideas with it by default.
