...about L's death? I would like to know what the "timer" in the manga (Chapter "Zero", after L and Watari's death) that showed 20d18h31m31s means and why it took roughly 20 days for Roger to tell Mello and Near that L was dead.
I would like to know what the "timer" in the manga (Chapter "Zero", after L and Watari's death) that showed 20d18h31m31s means and why it took roughly 20 days for Roger to tell Mello and Near that L was dead.

In relation to this, Roger was able to ascertain that Watari was dead when the timer started, but had to wait 20 days before being able to confirm that L also died. Does this mean the timer is connected to Watari instead of L?
 
I think it was because if L hasn't touched his computer in a certain amount of time, the timer automatically starts.
L could have been traveling somewhere for awhile and cannot reach his computer so that's probably why they set it for 20 days.
In 20 days, the computer would send a message to Roger that L was presumed dead and Roger would relay the news to Mello annd Near.
