Death Metal Bands

Opeth have black metal parts.

melodic death and death are essentially the same thing except melodic death guitarist actually understand music theory. good death banRAB : Death (obviously), In Flames, Zimmerman Note, At The Gates.

i must say though High King, you seem to know your stuff which is good.

Avenged Sevenfold were classified as punk/death metal, their music is great but i believe they lean much more to death metal. City of Evil is going to clarify that, in my opinion. Have to say that Children of Bodom dwelling at the top of my metal list along with Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian, Dark Tranquility, and Naglfar. List continues,...but there's a few.

Not much of a death fan, but I do listen to a fair amount of Immolation/Suffocation/Amarth/Carcass/Hypocrisy/Morbid Angel... Good stuff.

Although Hypocrisy is blackened death. \m/

Nope, not listened to any of those.
I'll give them a listen. Think I've heard Appalling Spawn somewhere.
And yes, Elvenefris is an awesome album. It's technical, brutal & Melodic in a very strange way. The vocals were excellent and i don't think the drumming neeRAB to be mentioned...that was kinda the highlight for me.

Also, forgot Spawn of Possession. Cabinet is an excellent album and Noctarabulant wasn't all that bad either. Definitely, worth listening to! Well, i just love anything Brutal and Technical ;)

You should check out all 3 if you like Lykathea Aflame. Garbage Disposal and Solfernus both have Tom Corn in them and Appalling Spawn were pretty much Lykathea Aflame with a different drummer.
