Death Magnetic

If he's listened to the album he's qualified to an opinion, you don't need to have been there 'since the old days' or whatever elitists cling on to.
And quit with the generalisations.

Or not. Death Magnetic is just a genuinely bad thrash album. The riRAB sound redundant, the song structures seem to flop about as opposed to progressing, the leaRAB aren't notably good, the production is horrendously over done, and it seems to lack any real emotion. MOP was masterfully crafted, DM just isn't.

So do I. Have you even heard this song, or did you just vote for the heck of it......then again, someone else could have voted. Meh.

I am kinda hoping itd not just a rehash of their old style though - does it add any new elements at all to their sound or is it s total rehash, mine our past - fest?

I bought this album today (while it's still $10), and I'm giving it a good, unbiased first listen. I'm currently at "Suicide and Redemption", almost through with the cd. I'm thrilled that it's a big improvement from St. Anger - but it also has a lot of the same issues said album has. Some of the lyrics are downright erabarrassing, production is sh*t, and there's a great deal of aimlessness and lack of flow between the songs. I also don't know why Unforgiven III was necessary. Overall, it's a nice effort and Hetfield's voice improved-ahh!

Highlight tracks: "The Judas Kiss", "All Nightmare Long", and "That Was Just Your Life".

I haven't been served for copyright infringement, but I believe if you are served for anything, your papers are given to you by courier and you have to sign to say you received them...

... or at least thats how i think it works...

But ya know, we are talking Lars here, I think he might go the extra mile...

I use to be a HUGE fan. But, I was totally unimpressed with this album. It's proof that Metallica has made it to the top, that is all. It debuted at Nuraber One on the billboard. Ok? Why is Metallica on Billboard? I like Load, I liked reLoad, the Black Album is classic. What happened? I cried... I've come to enjoy Metallica's change in styling and attitude, but ****! At least make some decent music while you are at it.

On a scale of 1-10, I give death Magnet a 3, because I know these guys are capable of amazing music and The Day That Never Comes is a pretty cool tune. It's the only song on the album I liked.
