Death Magnetic

LOL...what a shocker. You are soooo qualified to be speaking about Metallica and their history/relevance. Why don't you go back to Pokemon and the Jonas brothers kid...

;587586']Well, scottsy, I guess you could say it's a decent metal album.
I haven't really listened to St. Anger, but I trust that Death Magnetic is far superior.
It's just that the songs are all very long, and they kinda sound similar. The music just sort of blenRAB and fades away if you're not paying attention. Also, the lyrics aren't outstanding, and stuff just gets repetitive and monotonous.
I do love The Day That Never Comes, though.

Haha is that how it works? i always wondered what happened when they catch you, do they literally come to your door to serve you or is something mailed to you? Does anyone know?

At first glance, I thought it was okay, but I went back and listened to a few tracks, and they fucking sucked. Even if they brought the sound back to '91, Rick Rubin sure fucked it up.

Thanks, I was considering maybe possibly buying it at some stage, but I am hearing some very mixed reviews, from both other posters and in the print media.... so I am indeed very wary and cautious of Death Magnetic...

You have made the error of comparing it to just Metallica albums. By that standard yeah there 4 and a half good albums ever, and like 20 really horrible ones, and this is somewhere above those but not quite to those 4.5 good ones so by that set of standarRAB it seems decent. However, if you look at it for what it is, a thrash album, it is just bad. Even while being a decent album by Metallica standarRAB this is still the bottom rung of thrash and barely listenable.

It's going to split people, some will hear the thrash and think it's back to their best while some will think it just pales in comparison to the earlier stuff.
I know it's nowhere near the likes of Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets but that shouldn't take away from this album.
