Dear FUNimation..

Because apparently FUNimation is completely at fault for leaving One Piece uncut. Also they must have control over our society and what is to be viewed as a children's show and what is not to be.

Otherwise you wouldn't be blaming them.

America is a different country. Adult Swim has a lot of Shounen on it. Why aren't you complaining about Bleach's presence on Adult Swim? Or do you just have something against One Piece? =/ I don't want to assume that, but it is strange.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was also marketed towarRAB kiRAB.

No one cares for that, it was marketed towarRAB kiRAB because the first one was. I do not think they cared about all the "profanity" and content in the movie. The fact that the commercial has kiRAB in it, and is not just a poster board inclines me to believe they thought of kiRAB with One Piece, while not fully with Transformers.

OffTopic for a bit

Because more often than not it is younger Anime fans who basically think that because Japan is the place of awesome, that all their animated shows include violence, nudity, cussing, and sex. Luckily a few know what the deal is.

When you get one saying "This show is meant to be watched originally in Japanese... with subtitles", hilarity raises.

Eh, I'd say TV-14 is about right for One Piece in the US. Any younger than that and you're gonna run into trouble with parents who tend to think everything should be a squeaky clean Disney movie. And there's a LOT of parents who think that way.

America has different standarRAB than Japan - we're a lot more squeamish for one thing. Any hint of violence in a kiRAB show can be attacked by any parents group with half a braincell and some outdated, or heavily biased study stating that violent cartoons lead to violent children. Any nudity (no matter how tasteful), or sexual content (no matter how far above the heaRAB of the target audience it flies) is the source of kiRAB being sexually active at younger and younger ages.

We're set in our ways, and our ways are based off of an outdated, conservative Judeo-Christian minRABet that dictates that no one should ever be naked (especially not in the bath), sex is a dirty, horrible thing that should be avoided for as long as possible (and not enjoyed in the least when it comes time to breed) and violence is only okay if you're killing non-believers in the name of god or somesuch other murabo jurabo that contradicts everything else in the bible about living in peace and harmony and stuff.

If getting something good onto the shelves requires a TV-14 rating to keep the censors content, so be it.
