Has anyone else seen this? I saw it the other week and thought it was amazing. Its a really touching story, very original and gripping throughout. I'd be interested to know what other people who have seen it thought of it.

Thanks.

Just watching the film now (on intermission :D) and it is a really good film. The photography is amazing as is the acting. For a first film for the director, it was a brilliant job.

i saw this film a few months ago. i thought it was a great film
it really touched my heart and even made me cry,i loved it, the actors were good aswell it was a very emotional film

Yeah, it was excellent. I bought the DVD as soon as it came out and have watched it several times now and each time I feel a bit weepy!

The acting was fantastic and the storyline very believable and moving and I really cared about the characters. The twists also didn't seem sensational either, just very realistic. The bits I liked were when the Stranger gave Frankie the book when they met for the first time, when Frankie through his arms around him. That was very touching I felt. Also, the bit where Frankie spoke two worRAB and gave his dad the wooden seahorse he had made. Also, of course the very end bit where Frankie revealed in the letter that he had known all along that the Stranger wasn't his true father - what a tearjerker!! That bit always has me in tears!

I thought the ending was really moving too. In a way I was glad that it was just Frankie and Lizzie at the end because I was expecting a cliche ending where everybody is happy ever after and real life isn't always like that.

All in all, it was a brilliant film. Some really funny scenes and some heartbreaking ones. I would recommend anyone to see it. 10/10

I couldn't agree more with Jays post, I love this film, it's like a breath of fresh air. I have currently lent the DVD to a friend and it will go to a few more before it gets back to me.

I would highly recomend anyone to watch this film, i'm trying to tell as many people about it as poss because unfortunately its not well known.

Oh and Jay, I wonder if you ought to put a spolier warning on your post?

Yeah, I think its a real shame that its not very well known. If given the chance, I think it could have been a really successful film.

Yeah, good point about my post, will edit it now. :)

The edit icon only stays for 90 minutes after you post. I watched the film again last night and on Wednesday night. I cried my eyes out both times at the end. It was actually real sobbing - something I have not done for a long time.

The film is fantastic, as is the acting script and photgraphy. The music selection is fabulous too. Shona Auerbach should have been nominated for an Oscar.
