Dealing with fake files on P2P?

Apparently the RIAA is flooding P2P networks with fake files. If you download one it starts off normally then stalls with this annoying bit, bit, bit screeching sound. Kazaa Lite is getting really bad with these things. Has anyone found a P2P or FTP that is more reliable?

It's okay to talk about KaZaA, the fake files, etc., but I can't allow anyone to talk about where to download illegal music. That's not the purpose of this forum and I cannot allow it. However, let's talk about the fake files on KaZaA, because that's pretty interesting. I think it's a smart move by them (if it is by them). If they annoy the downloaders enough then they can maybe get them to buy the CD.

hehe.. i cannot afford to by cd's... lol

the music industruy doesnt loose money when i download.. because if i couldn't download i'd jsut go with out music, i did it before napster...so really i never bought cd's so they don't loose money when i download cus if Kazaa wasn't around I wouldn't buy the CD

Hmmm...I haven't really downloaded any of these files. Only when I tried to download the new Thrice CD. Are you sure it's the RIAA or whatever? I think it may be the record companies. Or at least that is what Madonna's record company did. They had a file of her saying over and over "What the F*ck Do you Think You are Doing?" Then some guy hacked her website and made it say "This is What the F*ck I think I'm Doing" and then it had a link to every song on her new album to download. Funny stuff in my opinion.

Too bad I missed out on those Madonna downloaRAB ;). Haha

It's just more attempts by the RIAA/whoever, IMHO, to screw their own customers. They're going about it everyway but the right way. Atleast in my opinion they are.

Your right, they're acting like the *******s they really are. Hopefully, they'll be more online services like iTunes and Pressplay in the future and prices per song will come down to the point that legally downloading music online will be a viable alternative to P2P. Apparently, the MPAA now says they have 18 months to get their act together and start offering online downloaRAB of their products at a realistic price before P2P devastates them. All of these industries have to accept the fact that the days of gouging the consumer are over.

i agree that them scrarabling music is annoying, yet it is also ingenuous... but there are tons of ways to get around it...but i dont want to say because, well, if you respect/like the artist enough to take the time to download them, just spend the 12 bucks and buy their cd!

my only problem with itunes is when you want the whole CD, lets say the CD is 20 songs. you gotta pay 20 bucks for the whole album. That is why I very rarely ever download music, I go out to the store and support the artist. And save 5 bucks.

O, I did not know that lol. Well thanx for the info, but I still am goin to go out an buy the CD's, I might download 1 song to see if I like it, and then go but the CD.
