So I brought my car in for a warranty repair. There was a residual decal imprinted on the windshield and after trying 3 times to fix it without success they removed it on the 4th try with a special solvent. I wasn't charged anything because the service department told me and I got them to assure me it was all warranty repairs (still have the receipts and the receipts dont say anywhere they are not responsible for damage)
When I got home I noticed circular scratches where the imprint is and not the dealership is telling me that the repair was under "the goodness out our hearts".
I got the owner to look after the case and told me that they will replace my windshield at 50/50. I refused telling them "how can it be 50% my fault"? Then he told me that all I have to pay is 80$... I still refused.
I talked with my insurance agent and he told me that when I gave my keys over to them, they are liable for all damage done to the car.
The owner is trying to give me some dealer excuse that the swirl marks are a "side effect" to the repair. "If dish soap wont clean the pot then you will need stainless steel wool to take it off but it leaves marks".
What do I do? 80$ is 80$ and the owner is refusing to talk to me anymore...
