Deal on a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 4x2 Laredo?

Couple of things..

I'm in the market for a new mid-size SUV, i've looked at the Murano, and that's pretty much it. I currently drive a 2001 JGC Laredo. My brother-in-law is a GM at a Chysler dealership and said he has a 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that with his employee discount can get me the vehicle for $17460 + TTL. Good deal?

Also, anyone with any experience with multiple car seats in this vehicle? Plenty of room?
By the way its a Brand New 2008.
Chrysler doesn't offer any financing directly thru them, they basically search for the best rate thru area banks, I have been able to secure 4.75% thru a local credit union.

It sounds like a pretty good deal pricewise. Be sure your BIL is showing you all his cards with that deal, sometimes to take one kind of price you have to give up certain financing privleges on the other end of the deal. Bummer.

This is just me, but if you're willing to settle for a 4x2 Jeep, why not get a minivan? Better room, better fuel economy, better access. Have you ever tried to clamber into the backseat via that rear door? I have, and I'm pretty flexible. I thought it was intended for teenage Chinese gymnasts, because it sure as heck didn't fit fullsize American men. Worse yet if you're trying to load up kiddie seats.

What's wrong with the Laredo you're driving now? It's only seven years old, it's got a good 10+ years left in it and it's already paid for. What is so all-fired fabulous about the new Jeep that you're willing to take on another five years of debt to get it?
