Dead Man's Shoes

There was a thread not too long back, but I think it's done a disappearing act off the main page now.

I fully agree, great film even though it has it's critics.

I love most of Shane's films, and Paddy Considine is a joy.

If you've not seen them, then I recommend:

A Room For Romeo Brass
Once Upon A Time In The MidlanRAB
TwentyFour Seven

His others include, Small Time, Where's The Money Ronnie? and Northern Soul - I haven't seen these though.

Did you get the spray-painted reference on the wall in Tuff's flat? Cheyne Stoking? It refers to the uneven rasping breathing pattern of a dying person!

I would complain about it being a duplicate thread, but this film deserves it.

Fantastic, no need to go into details, as it has to be seen to understand quite how good it is.

Ditto - have to get my name on this thread too.

Northern Soul is included as an extra on the DMS DVD - it's probably not one of Shane's best shorts, but bits of it are pretty funny, especially when Toby Kebbell does his one and only wrestling bout...."Aaargh, aaargh, you're pulling my hair!!"

It's also a bit of an advert for local band Clayhill's album, who are mates of Shane Meadows, but what the hell, it worked on me, I went out and bought it straight away.
