Daybreak, First Day in, Improvement?

I used to watch GMTV - enjoyed watching it as it was easy to watch, however stopped watching when I just didn't have the time in the morning anymore. Haven't bothered catching Daybreak. Not only am I still unable to catch it, but the advertising makes it look boring.

Yep agree! Posted something similar to this on another thread only 5 minutes ago. ITV never seem to learn do they? They "think" they have a winning formula because they see what has worked elsewhere, try to emulate it and it is an epic fail (as they say).

Ratfans!

ITV spokespeople remind me of that 'Comical Ali' guy in Iraq who said that everything was fine even with American tanks rumbling behind him in the background.

Actually what people should do is hold these people to their word. So when Christine gets shipped out as she inevitably will, they should ask 'But hang on why would you do that when in your own worRAB you were closing the gap and everything was going well? Why would you risk ruining such a good program?'

They make me sick these spokespeople. Don't treat us like the imbeciles who come up with their phone in quiz questions, the hardest of which so far seems to have been 'What colour is grass?'

Don't get me started on pregnant weather presenters. It seems to be a mandatory job requirement nowadays!!!

Freeloaders, having a nice 9 months free holiday!!

If it was up to me I'd sack all pregnant women!!!!:D:D

Daybreak rated 800,000 for the second morning running yesterday (Thursday) with BBC Breakfast on 1.4 million. Maybe the Daybreak audience has bottomed-out for ITV although the figures are still not good for them after the hulabaloo that surrounded the launch. I wonder what will happen when Christine and Ade start taking mornings off.

Kate Garroway and the sports bloke Dan Lobb are supposed to be the second team, a strange decision because Garroway at least is closely associated with GMTV so it will be just like old times.:D Her ex-husband is the programme editor, not that I'm suggesting any nepotism of course.

Isn't "Breakfast" going ooop north soon?

I imagine that will be an opportunity for Daybreak to get in there and nab some viewers.

In fact it will have a distinct advantage being located in London for guests. While Breakfast will only be able to call on whippet racers and bingo-callers, Daybreak will get all the big names such as Sue Pollard and Alan Davies.

I was thinking that maybe Bleakey was a new branch of the Peter Principle in that however incompetent she is she keeps getting promoted but then read about the Dunning-Kruger effect which may explain it all as it seems to be what the ITV bosses suffer from.

I solved the problem of bad morning telly years ago - Option one is to have a job with an early start. Option two is to take the dog for an early walk and get some fresh air. All the same news is repeated throughout the day.
