Daybreak, First Day in, Improvement?

you think afer a few years of Working Lunch & The One Show, he would have interview skills better than those of a football pundit which he obviously is.

i suppose im in the minority here, i actually like daybreak and i wake up to it in the morning and i allways watch the cool before school part haha

The sofas just come from a Premier Inn and hotel staff will take turns in filling in for Adrian and Christine. Kate Garraway has taken a part time job waiting tables at a pub attached to a Premier Inn:D;)

I like (or liked) Christine. But the whole thing makes me laugh. Daybreak is losing viewers by the truckload, so what is the anser - move Christine on to bigger, better projects, eg X Factor! RAB, if I wasn't doing my job properly, I would be fired, not pushed further up the greasy pole.

ITV just cannot afford to lose face - they are stuck with her and her ridiculously high salary now.

I LOVED Daybreak today with Kate and Dan. I couldnt believe he threw chocolate sauce all over her :D

I have always liked Kate, and i adore Dan's smile - so a partnership made in heaven.

Christine and Adrian can stay away IMO.

The story was borrowed from yesterdays Mail, hardly a Channel 5 mouthpiece

Apparently it's an idea from Paul Connolly, who was a producer on the One show before being poached by ITV in a big money deal.

Whatever your opinions are individually of the GMTV presenters

Emma, Andrew Castle, Ben Shepard, Kate Garraway, John Stapleton and Penny Smith (in the 6oclock hour)

at least you had a bit of variety i.e. not the same presenters every day

Wonder who they will use when Adrian and Christine are on holiday or when they are ill.

Worth pointing out I think that GMTV ended on about 800,000 so in real terms Daybreak has not improved on that despite all the hype and money spent on allegedly-popular presenters.I wonder when Christine will be heading off for all those exciting projects ITV have lined-up for her:confused:

How can you insult the core demographic I've mentioned? They are what they are by definition:p
IF they are trying to attract this same group then they will fail, as Daybreak is far less tacky and downmarket than GMTV. IMO it's almost 'This morning'ish' in it's style, but with news, sport and weather etc.

Does anyone else see the logo and immediately think "facebook"?
Was the idea to try and be "hip" by having a logo so similar to a highly successful social networking site?

It's "closing the gap on year on year decline", so that probably media-speak for "It's not declining as badly as it once was (even though it is still declining)" :D

But the grin is so fake, is not genuine.

it's a 'I'll only grin at you, cos I'm paid too'

it's not a sincere grin.

everything about the programme is so false.

that deep blue, just looks like a giant aquarium, with 2 cold fish presenting it.

I notice during the interview with Cherie Blair this morning you could see the clock reflected on the yellow screens behind Adrian and Christine, made the background slightly more interesting, and another flowery appendage (with sunflowery things in it this time - Gardening Correspondent :D) has appeared between the sofas. Improvement watch!
