Daybreak, First Day in, Improvement?

I also like the programme and I prefer the presenters on Daybreak, to GMTV and I'm glad Andrew Castle's not there anymore. I really like Christine and Adrian and find them quite homely and down-to-earth. Obviously there are people on here who don't like them and have no intention of giving them a few days to settle down a bit more... although I think they're doing a good job already.
 
the reason I dont like itt as much is that there is no content to it. It's either news or people talking nonsense or something cool before school - which uisually is cringeworthy and for me at 27 I can tell that most teenagers would find it cringeworthy too.
 
I haven't watched since the first day or so, but thought I'd take a look today. Pleasantly surprised to see Chiles and Bleakley gone. Hope it is permanent. Seem to have lost the inane 5 a day nonsense.
 
oh dear,not looking good for A&C. Adrian can rely on his footie commentating, but apart from Daybreak, Christine has no other vehicle to present. I think she must be waking up in the middle of the night screaming "what have i done?". Get her on Loose Women, get Kate and a new guy on the sofa, dump the newsreader for Penny Smith and ITV, admit defeat, daybreak in it's current form is a stinker.
 
I was quite looking forward to watching Julian Clary on the show this morning. I dont know if he had already been on, but i watched from 7:30am to 8:30am this morning. His 'segment' was so small it really wasnt worth the hassle. Instead of speaking to him, they instead brought on the show 2 screaching ducks as he likes ducks. Their wailing took up the whole time.

Disaster.

They spent more time talking to a man about the game of conkers.
 
Exactly, this thread seems to be full of full time moaners.
TBH I saw it for the 1st time this morning with an open mind, unlike some on here. I thought it was better, and far less tacky and down market than GMTV. Which is probably why 800,000 of the GMTV faithful have deserted. It will take time for it to attract a different audience, and one that's far more discerning than the chavy muffin topped TV chat reading female audience GMTV had:p
 
"Cool before school" sounRAB like something teachers would dream up. "Daybreakers" is poor man's youtube. They just need less news bulletins and more content. The constant aRAB don't do it any favours.

I'll be watching 4musics breakfast show from next week.
 
You do realise that is the audience Daybreak is trying to be appeal to . Gmtv was axed because women and Houswives with kiRAB-[advertisers main demographic at that time of the morning] were leaving in huge numbers.

Those viewers you just insulted are supposed to be Daybreaks core demographic and if they loose much more of them Adrian and Christine will be out before Christmas.


Who exactly do you think reports on Farepak are aimed at?:D Millionaires?

A spokesperson for Daybreak denied that Bleakley was set to leave.

If the format is right then they should be fine at 5pm because its a fairly easy slot these days. 1.5m+ is a fair success. As far as other shows go, the BBC idea for 'The Ten Show (a late night topical debate show) could work, with Adrian hosting that daily after the news. That gets rid of Adrian at least but there isn't much else Christine can do that others can't do just as effectively. I bet shes really regretting quitting the BBC.
 
ITV have paid her ALOT of money for as you put it "rubbish" no reason they cant make the most of it, and have her as a guest on other shows, the days she has off.
