Daybreak, First Day in, Improvement?

There is blame for both Alison Sharman & Peter Fincham, but yeah when Daybreak falls, I would guess Alison will get most of the blame, whilst Adrian & Christine are tried in new slots & solo projects.
 
I think in a while, ITV will revert back to the GMTV-style (I hope), and preferably with a few more presenters until they find the right combination. Daybreak was a stupid idea IMO, and they should take more notice of what the viewers want!

true enough but it would mean ITV admitting in a very public fashion that Daybreak is a massive flop.

Who wants to admit they left a succesful show, for an utter flop, simply becasue they wanted him to take Friday off to present another show, im talking about the romoured "10 O Clock Show"

The BBC must be rubbing there hanRAB in glee at how all of this has turned out, I would imanage all talent contract negoations will be started with a reminder of this sitution. Certinaly the ones where someone has been offerd a big money deal by ITV.
 
It was reported in another thread yesterday that Chiles would be covering the footy so it was no surprise that he wasn't there.
I was surprised that they let Bleakley have a jolly just because of that though.

It may backfire as I though the replacements were far better. More natural. Simply reading out loud and interacting with each other normally instead of looking forced or like a bad student play.
 
depenRAB how you arrange them - they could add more or vary the colours across the morning as the daylight changes.

Also for most of December they will have at least one Christmas tree to add to the set.
 
I tuned in today and enjoyed it

Stayed watching for Lorraine only to find...she wasn't there! I can't believe they are still allowing her to still work a 4 day (4 hour!) working week

A shame
 
I can't see Christine staying tbh either, I think the earlies will be too much. I wonder how long it will be before there is a closeup pic with "the early morning takes their toll" headline for her!

Or maybe they are trying out different presenters to see what working better??;)
 
That was weird. I was only listening at the time and assumed Chiles had actually kissed him. I thought it was an over-reaction but when I saw the 'replay' and realised he hadn't I just thought repressed homosexual.
 
It will start with Adrian & Christine being reduced to Monday-Wednesday and Kate & whoever on Thursday & Friday. ITV will say its to allow A&C to concentrate on the days they are on or to mirror the rest of ITV daytime. Then Adrian or Christine will 'quit' with the other leaving because they don't want to work without the other.

Adrian & Christine are talented presenters but their partnership hasn't translated well to the morning. ITV would be better giving them a show at 5pm or one of the dead 7.30pm slots during the week. Neither of them are morning people and thats really evident in the presenting and their chemistry which is very forced on Daybreak. All you need to do is watch old clips of The One Show to see the difference in the two.
