Yes, it is Alison Sharman who's responsible for Daybreak's content. The show is not made by a production company as in the normal way (not even ITV Productions, which is strange, as they have experience of producing This Morning, Kyle, Loose Women etc). Instead, it's being made by the broadcaster itself, with Sharman as the de facto executive producer.
It will be interesting to see if she takes the fall. Peter Fincham is the man who hired Chiles and Bleakley, and you can bet your life that he won't be blaming them for this disaster - at least not in public, as he has so much money and personal credibility invested in them. But he may have less qualms about hanging Sharman out to dry.
