Daybreak, First Day in, Improvement?

In my opinion, i think its a million times better than GMTV.

The branding, the presenters, (although i do miss ben shepherd), the design of the studio, the view across London which they use at the end of shots to put daybreak over..

I just think it's a much more.. 'grown-up' production. AND they have a proper stage (the weather screen bit) I think that's clever, they can use it for multi purposes.

Anyway, I like it, what about you?

So, even with all the media coverage and hype, they couldn't pull in the viewers. That should teach the bosses at ITV. They just thought that by having the much-talked about partnership of Adrian and Christine, everyone would want to watch it just for them. It's typical of ITV's methoRAB to try and get ratings.

Sorry but why was this third rate hack from Ireland hired for Daybreak? there are far prettier and more talented third rate hacks in the UK who could have stumbled and bumbled better than her, send her packing.

I don't know what the ins and outs of Eamonn Holmes' contractual obligations with Sky are but I think they should get him and Ruth Langsford to do Monday-Thursday on Daybreak, and Kate with someone else on Fridays so Eamonn and Ruth can still do This Morning. Atleast they have some natural chemistry even if you can't imagine them in bed!

Then ITV need to get rid of the AWFUL self-important Philip Schofield and the insincere Holly and recruit two new presenters for This Morning Monday-Thursday - maybe Bleakley and Chiles would be better suited to that?

You are completely right of course. I should have judged it based on 2 days, like you did.

GMTV was slated when it first started, and it lasted for 17 years. 12 of those years were spent kicking the ass of any competition that came its way

I expect he is busy trying to scrape the s**t which always appears to be under his nose when he talks to anyone!.......
Good riddance, the less he is on the better i would think.....:p

Maybe it might have something to do with the cost of such a refit, especially reviewing the lighting points to ensure correct coverage and installing new fittings onto the outside of the building (as it would be unlikely to be as easy as simply changing one light fitting for another). Perhaps ITV should offer to pay .... ?

It only has a few more viewers than GMTV because people are tuning in to see if there are any knowing glances that give away the ongoing affair between Adrian & the Bloke,

:D

They lost 100,000 viewers between Monday and Tuesday morning so the rest of the week will be interesting. BBC Breakfast is averaging about 1.5 million, Daybreak 900,000.

We watched BBC over our toast and cornflakes this morning.

Daybreak yesterday was SO awful.

I see on various sites that Alex whoever (from X factor I think) was very scantily dressed on Daybreak. I bet podgy old Chiles loved that! I suppose they needed something today to keep a few people watching.

Where are they?...... Now this isn't to run them down as i like both Adrian and Christine but!, I got up especially at 6 to see the start of the show on monday but don't need to be up at that time so have not seen the show since!, I tuned in at about 9.10 yesterday and what do i see?.. the dreaded Lorraine!....anyway i was up earlier today and tuned in again at 8.45 and who is on?... the dreaded Lorraine again!..RAB.... i have had a look on the website and although it says join them from 6.00am they don't say what time it goes off the air!...... so on checking the dreaded Lorraines page it says from 8.30....
After all the hype!, i can't believe the show enRAB at 8.30!.....
